Panorama NIPT

Panorama NIPT test analyzes the cell-free DNA from your blood to detect chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus. This test is non-invasive, providing a safe way to assess the risk of certain genetic conditions without risk to your pregnancy.

The test is performed in the USA at the Natera laboratory. 

Panorama NIPT uses SNP*-based technology to provide highly accurate results and detailed information for both singleton and twin pregnancies.

Panorama NIPT can be performed from the 9th week of pregnancy. Panorama™ is a screening test, which means that it does not provide a definitive diagnosis.

Types of Results

After the Panorama NIPT test, you will receive one of three types of results within 10 business days.

Low Risk
A low-risk result indicates that the fetus is unlikely to have one of the syndromes analyzed. This means that no additional testing may be necessary, but you can continue with routine prenatal care.
High Risk
A high-risk result suggests a high probability that the fetus may have one of the syndromes tested. Genetic counseling and/or diagnostic testing should be offered to further evaluate this high-risk result.
No result / Atypical finding
Possible causes may include a chromosomal abnormality, technical limitations of the test, multiple regions of homozygosity, or an indeterminate SNP pattern in the placenta or fetus. This finding may also be the result of normal biological variation and/or may be limited to placental tissue only. Genetic counseling, a comprehensive ultrasound evaluation, and diagnostic testing are recommended to further investigate this suspected atypical finding.

 

Procedure

Blood Sample Collection
A blood sample is safely and non-invasively collected from the mother.
Sample Packaging and Identification
The sample is packaged in the specific test kit together with unique identification codes to ensure traceability and safety throughout the process.
Shipment to the Natera Laboratory in the USA
The sample is transported by DHL to the Natera laboratory in the United States of America, according to international laboratory transport standards.
Receiving the Result
We expect to receive the result within approximately 10 business days.

Who should have the Panorama NIPT?

 

Panorama NIPT is suitable for any woman starting from the 9th week of pregnancy. It is not recommended for:

  • Pregnancies with triplets or more
  • Pregnancies with an egg donor or surrogate carrying more than one baby
  • Women who have undergone a bone marrow transplant
  • Consult your doctor to determine whether Panorama™ is the right choice for you.

When should I have the Panorama™ prenatal test?

 

Panorama NIPT can be performed from the 9th week of pregnancy.

Is it a diagnostic test?

 

No. Panorama is a screening test – if the result is high risk, additional confirmatory tests are recommended.

How long does it take to receive the results?

 

Results are usually available within 7–10 business days.

Can it be performed in twin pregnancies or with IVF?

 

Yes, Panorama is suitable for:

  • Twin pregnancies
  • IVF (in vitro fertilization)

How is the test performed?

 

A simple blood sample is collected from the mother – without risk to the baby.

Do I need to fast before the test?

 

No, you do not need to fast before the blood sample is collected.

How is the sample transported from Albania to the USA?

 

The blood sample is collected at the clinic and placed in special kits, then shipped via Medical Express DHL.
